Cautionary tales on the over-reliance on technology as a central tool in early learning… We need to be cautious about a balance towards life-long learning, an embracing of sustainability and a realization that we should only spend time at a computer when we are ready to use it as a tool and not merely an entertainment device. We should use it to feed our passions in learning and gaining expertise on a subject, a domain of knowledge.

As someone who was a member of the last group at my school to learn typing on a 30 year old Remington, I can very much relate to the sentiments in this piece. I miss the sounds that typewriters made… the realization through those sounds that the world was changing one letter at a time.
